Hi, I’m
Genevieve K. Henderson
Actor / Musician / Dramaturg

About Me
Hi! My name is Genevieve K. Henderson, and I am an actor, dramaturg, and musician currently based in New York City. I received my B.A. in theatre from Barnard College, Columbia University, and I just graduated with my MFA at Mary Baldwin University in their Shakespeare and Performance program. Between my undergraduate and graduate programs, I studied improv at Second City Chicago. I love working and traveling all over: I have lived everywhere from Miami to Chicago to Washington D.C., and I love making theatre wherever I go. When not onstage, I love knitting and playing my oboe, Red Ruth (though I have also done both onstage!). Not to mention snuggling every dog I can find, doing puzzles on my dining room table, and experimenting with my espresso machine.

I believe theatre is for the audience. I believe theatre is a service industry. I believe theatre should not harm, leave anyone out, make anyone feel stupid, or uplift systems of oppression (despite its history of doing so). As both an actor and a dramaturg, my simplest goal is for audiences and practitioners to leave rehearsal rooms and theatres feeling better than when they arrived.
